Resort & beachwear
Breezy dresses, linen sets, cover-ups and easy separates for beach days, sunset dinners, and the long lunch in between. Picked for Florida weather and Longboat afternoons.
A family boutique mid-island on Gulf of Mexico Drive. Breezy beachwear, swimwear, accessories and small Florida gifts — picked the way a neighbor would pick them.
In February 1989, Mahesh and Harvinder Mirchandani opened a small shop in The Centre Shops, mid-way down Longboat Key. Known to the family as Longboat Tees & Casuals in its earliest chapter, the store grew with the island — eventually taking its present name, Longboat Resort Wear.
From the start, it was a husband-and-wife business: resort, sport and beachwear for men, women and children, chosen and folded and rung up by the people whose name was on the door. A reporter once called it "a true family business." The description never really changed.
After Mahesh passed in 2011, his wife Harvinder — Nanhi to family — carried the shop forward with the same warmth visitors remember her by. Today the boutique is still a place where the owner greets you, helps you find the cover-up that actually works, and remembers you when you come back next winter.

Small, considered gifts: things visiting family take home, things locals send their guests to find. A real island shop, not a tourist counter.
